ESPARDILLES
Wedges, flats and platform espardilles handmade with natural jute, keeping alive the traditional way to work this material original from asia and tropical weather regions. Jute has for many years now also been used in Spain to craft shoes and all kinds of apparel.
But, what is jute?
Jute is a material extracted from the plant Corchorus and it ’ s commonly known as the “Golden fiber” because of its broad capacity for confection of clothing and footwear bringing full comfort in all ways.
Jute adapts better to the shape of feet than raffia, creating a comfortable and resistant sole for any occasion, so much in dress up footwear as everyday shoes.
Its flexibility allows for a better control of the fabric in order to adapt it to all sorts of shoes, that’s why our wedges are just as comfortable as our flat espardilles, allowing full versatility when it comes to styling them.
Furthermore, jute is much more transpirable than raffia making a natural transpiration of the foot possible, resulting in ideal shoes both for winter and summer weather.
Jute is an eco-friendly material that goes in hand with Au Revoir Cinderella’s values on sustainability. It doesn’t need artificial pesticides nor fertilizers, needs far less amounts of water than other materials for its creation and it’s biodegradable.
